Join us in a workshop with renowned didgeridoo master Larry Gurruwiwi to learn about the traditional Yiḏaki of Northeast Arnhem Land.
Larry learned to play and make yiḏaki at an early age under the guidance of his father Djalu Gurruwiwi, who is recognised worldwide as the Master of the Didgeridoo. Today, both in Arnhem Land and internationally, Larry is recognised not only as an exemplary yiḏaki player, but also one of the senior custodians of the didgeridoo. Larry continues his father’s legacy working with his brothers and extended family under the name of “Malawurr,” which is the Galpu name for “Family”.
During the extended, five hour workshop we will explore topics such as: What are the basics of the Yolŋu-style yiḏaki playing and what are the differences between contemporary didgeridoo and yiḏaki playing styles? What is the connection between didgeridoo playing and phonetics (pronunciation and articulation of a spoken language)? How Yolŋu think about sound healing and how western notions can connect to this view? What are the songlines and what is the role of the yiḏaki in traditional Yolŋu performance?

The first of our annual monthly immersions. This year we will be introducing a new format in line with the seasons and energy of the month.
You can expect an integration of gentle somatic elements including touch, light, visualisation and other surprises as we dive deeply into a sound and vibration journey of the senses.

Ever wanted to understand what Sound Healing really is?
Curious to play a singing bowl yourself?
In this 3 hour workshop we will cover some of the fundamental elements of Sound and Vibrational healing. You will take the bowl into your own hands and experiment with vibration on yourself and others. The afternoon will culminate in a full sound healing immersion allowing you the opportunity to take all you have learnt during the workshop and experience the depth of healing available through Sound and Vibration.
